NPC: Darvin

Darvin

Young Darvin, in disguise as human.
Full Name Darvin Clawhanded
Darvin Charles Burly (alias)
Race Orc
Class Unknown

Older Darvin, still in disguise as human.

Darvin was an orc spy.

History

While in disguise as a human, he worked for Sir David in an assumed role as the diplomat's assistant. In reality, he was working on the orders of Selshak to poison the crop yield of the town of Ckaen, in turn directly affecting the human kingdom for which the town provided much of its grain.

Original Timeline

He was unsuccessful, however, due to the actions of Kirmez, who discovered his true orc nature and the poisoning of the grain due to the presence of the infestation of Bareccian Sparrow Tortoises. Following this, Darvin was disowned by the orc kingdom and exiled in shame, eventually being trapped in the town of Dascia by one of many wars in the ensuing century.

However, at the beginning of the campaign, Darvin encountered Man and Arsene, who were transporting the Time Relic. Darvin stole the relic and used it to travel back in time to the day of his greatest disgrace, unintentionally transporting Man, Arsene, and Ma'zhel with him and creating a divergent timeline.

Altered Timeline

An older Darvin, upon returning to the past, used a single-use rune scroll to plant a Fireball spell on a frog that he knew Kirmez would encounter. However, this plan was discovered by Arsene, Man, and Ma'zhel when they encountered him outside the Ckaen tavern and warned Kirmez, unmasking the younger Darvin in the process.

In trying to find the explosive, Arsene befriended the younger Darvin, who helped them find the trap and bring down Selshak. This led to a series of complicated political bullshit which resulted in Darvin being given the job of Ambassador to the Humans in place of the now-imprisoned Selshak.

The new Ambassador Darvin, along with Kirmez and his team, led the orc and human kingdoms to a greater mutual understanding and friendship, resulting in the prevention of several skirmishes and minor wars over the ensuing century. His current status is unknown.
